My step daughter flew into town yesterday solely for the purpose of taking her sister to the midnight exclusive premier showing of Twilight. What a sweet gesture I thought, as I tried to figure out why they were so smitten with this whole vampire-wolf thing…

Well, it seems that my girls are not the only ones in a frenzy, this Twilight phenomenon is causing quite a ruckus; literally. It has been reported that one of Robert Pattinson’s “Robsessed” fans was hospitalized on Sunday night after she went blow for blow with another girl over a poster! Both fans were amongst the 300 competition winners who won tickets to the world premiere of the new “Robsessed” DVD, which will also be released this week. Free posters were given out at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square (London) where the event took place.

“A massive fight broke out between two girls over the last poster,” said Precious Acabousi, 19 from Surrey, who was at the premiere. “There was a lot of pushing and shoving, everyone was crowding around them. “I heard gasps as one of the girls fell on the floor; she was in terrible pain and screaming for help. The poster had been ripped in two.”

“The “Robesessed” fans of Robert Pattinson, are the most hardcore of fanatics,” said a spokesman for the DVD, “we had plenty of posters printed, but obviously some people picked up more than others, and so the fight broke out.”

Well, I guess whether or not I can make sense of this whole Twilight phenomenon or not, Team Edward, Team Jacob and the Robsessed have it all figured out, stepdaughters included. Kudos to former stay at home mother of three Stephenie Meyers. Her final book in the Twilight series –Breaking Dawn sold 1.3 million copies in the first 24 hours. Way to go!
